Projects

A national postcode, designed, built and ready to adopt.

Our reference project is a complete postcode system and the software that runs it, tested on a real country's map. Here is what it gives you.

  • Complete design
  • Working software
  • Ready to adopt

Shown on Mozambique's map as an illustration. It is our own work and ready to be adopted as an official standard.

01The code

A code anyone can read.

The first part names the place, using the regions and districts people already know. The second part pinpoints the exact spot.

02Precision

Down to the doorstep.

Each code points to a square a few metres across. In a dense city, that is about the width of one house front.

03Coverage

Every corner of the country.

The design covers a whole nation from the first day. New neighbourhoods get new codes, and nothing already issued has to change.

04Stability

Codes that never change.

Streets are renamed. Boundaries move. A code, once issued, stays the same for good.

05Built

Built and ready.

The design is ready to be used today as working software: a registry of record, a console to manage it and a public lookup anyone can search.
